Sarah was their 10th child and 5th daughter.

William Samuel and Elizabeth had moved their family to Laclede County, Missouri by 1850.

SARAH and JAMES WILLIAM BARNES were married on or about March 6, 1856 in Laclede County. They produced as many as 13 children between 1857 and 1887.

Their first child, John H Barnes was born ca 1857 at Gasconade in Laclede County MO. He was counted with his parents in the 1880 census for Osage in Laclede County. Nothing further found.

Their second child, James  W Barnes was born ca 1858 at Gasconade in  Laclede County MO.  He was counted with his parents in the 1880 census for Osage in Laclede County. Nothing further found.

Their third child, George Barnes was born ca 1863 in Missouri. He was counted with his parents in the 1880 census for Osage in Laclede County. Nothing further found.

Their fourth child, Jane Barnes was born ca 1865 in Missouri. She was counted with her parents in the 1880 census for Osage in Laclede County. Nothing further found.

Their fifth child, Marion Barnes was born ca 1869 in Missouri. He was counted with his parents in the 1880 census for Osage in Laclede County. Nothing further found.

Their sixth child, William E Barnes was born ca 1872 in Missouri. He was counted with his parents in the 1880 census for Osage in Laclede County. Nothing further found.

Thomas Barnes was born in February 1876. He was not with our James William and Sarah Ann in the 1880 census for Osage in Laclede County. (He may have belonged to another James and Sarah who lived in Girdler in Knox County KY per the 1900 census)

Delia Barnes was born in September 1877. She was not with our James William and Sarah Ann in the 1880 census for Osage in Laclede County. (She may have belonged to another James and Sarah who lived at Girdler in Knox County KY per the 1900 census).

Their daughter, Sarah E Barnes was born ca 1880 in Missouri. She was counted with her parents in the 1880 census for Osage in Laclede County. Nothing further found.

Their son, Alexander Weaver Barnes was born on March 4, 1882 in Missouri. He married Maggie Evelyn Nelson ca 1907.  (Although ancestry.com lists James and Sarah Ann McGinnis Barnes as his parents, the Find-A-Grave entry lists his parents as William and Sarah E Bluett Barnes.)

Their son, Christopher M Barnes was born ca 1884 in Laclede County MO. He married Ada Melinda Cochran on November 3, 1920 at Lebanon in Laclede County.

Their son, Roe Barnes was born on February 18, 1885 in Laclede County MO.  He was counted with his grandparents and brother (Christopher) in the 1920 census for Gasconade in Laclede County. No marriage found. Twin

Their son, Montie Beaumont Barnes was born on February 18, 1885 in Laclede County MO.  He married Emma LNU ca 1918. They had 5 children between 1919 and 1936. Twin

Their son, 25 y/o Alexander Weaver Barnes married Maggie Evelyn Nelson ca 1907.  One child found.

Grandson, Carl Alexander Barnes was born to Alexander Weaver and Maggie Nelson ca 1908. Nothing further found.

Son, Montie Beaumont Barnes married Emma LNU ca 1918. They had 5 children between 1919 and 1936.

Grandson, Monte Barnes was born to Montie Beaumont and Emma LNU ca 1919. He was counted with his parents in the 1940 census for Boise, Idaho. Nothing further found.

Son, 36 y/o Christopher Morris Barnes married Ada Melinda Cochran on November 3, 1920 at Lebanon in Laclede County.  They had three children between 1922 and 1926.

Granddaughter, Evelyn M Barnes was born to Christopher Morris and Ada Cochrum on December 30, 1921 in Missouri. She married FNU Cashion after 1940. No children noted.

Grandson, Glen Barnes was born to Montie Beaumont and Emma LNU ca 1921. He was counted with his parents in the 1940 census for Boise ID. Nothing further found.

Grandson, Charles Morris Barnes was born to Christopher Morris and Ada Cochrum on February 26, 1923 in Missouri. Morris married Virginia Louise Henson on November 3, 1941 in Laclede County MO and Thelma Lucille Spurgeon-Evans on September 20, 1967.

Grandson, Eugene Barnes was born to Montie Beaumont and Emma LNU ca 1923. He was counted with his parents in the 1940 census for Boise, ID. Nothing further found.

Granddaughter, Beverly Barnes was born to Montie Beaumont and Emma LNU ca 1925. She was counted with her parents in the 1940 census for Boise ID. Nothing further found.

JAMES WILLIAM BARNES, husband or widower of Sarah Ann McGinnis Barnes died ca 1926. I found no death date for Sarah.

Granddaughter, Delorus Barnes was born to Montie Beaumont and Emma LNU ca 1936. She was counted with her parents in the 1940 census for Boise ID. Nothing further found.

Grandson, 18 y/o Charles Morris Barnes s/o Christopher Morris and Ada Cochrum married  Virginia Louise Henson on November 3, 1941 in Laclede County MO. Two children are noted for the couple in his Find-A-Grave entry.

Grandson, James  Omer Barnes, born April 21, 1925 was the 3rd and last child born to Christopher Morris and Ada Melinda Cochrum Barnes. ‘Omer’ married Kathleen Ray Fulford on January 18, 1848 in Laclede County MO.  His Find-A-Grave entry notes that they had 2 sons.

Grandson, James Omer Barnes, son of Christopher and Ada Cockrum Barnes, served in the U S Navy from 1944 until 1946. A Seaman First Class, he served in the South Pacific.

Grandson, 23 y/o James Omer Barnes, s/o Christopher Morris and Ada Melinda Cochrum Barnes. Omer married Kathleen Ray Fulford on January 18, 1848 in Laclede County MO.  His Find-A-Grave entry notes that they had 2 sons.
